Description
The Dolores Hobley Collection was formed by various purchases from her business at Waldo Antiques of Kansas City. The collection consists of photographs that primarily reflect aspects of the African-American cultural experience during the late 19th century and into the 20th century, including in and around Kansas City.

Fire engine of Engine House no. 1

Five African American male fire fighters in their uniforms, pose for a photograph with a fire engine. Two fire fighters sit in the driver's and passenger's seats of the fire engine while two stand along the side and one stands on the back running board just outside the garage door opening to Engine House No. 1.
